New gallery showcasing contemporary art opened in Bath Saturday 15 June.
Quercus Gallery promotes work by emerging and established artists across a range of media.
Paintings, prints, collage, jewellery, ceramics and textiles are displayed in an
informal exhibition space over two floors.
Quercus Gallery is newly established at No. 1 Queen Street, Bath - the space formerly occupied
by bo-lee Gallery. The inaugural show, titled INTRODUCING, presents the first group of
gallery artists in a mixed show, curated by director Evie Howard.
INTRODUCING: Saturday 15 June – Saturday 13 July
Exhibiting in Bath for the first time is Dorset-based landscape painter Vanessa Gardiner;
Birmingham-based jeweller Rhiannon Lewis; Bath jeweller Karen Parker;
London-based painter and collage artist Pippa Ridley; mixed media artist Michelle Thompson,
from Saffron Walden; Norfolk-based painter and printmaker Chloe Steele;
Wiltshire ceramicist Matt Waite and Dorset artist Robert Woolner.
Quercus Gallery places emphasis on presenting a variety of artworks together in order to
suggest dialogue between disciplines. The gallery seeks to create a welcoming exhibition
atmosphere for the mixture of practices it presents and to provide friendly and informed advice
for new and seasoned collectors. A range of work by established and emerging artists will be
presented each year via an engaging programme of exhibitions. New artists will be introduced
over the summer months plus please watch out for the launch of our website – coming soon!
