Coming herself from a distinctly Bohemian family – her mother was a well known painter and potter, living and working in Vallauris at the time when Lydia first met Picasso – she established her own artistic identity witha subsequent name change and has gone on to have a flourishing late career, working in an exuberant style that, while owing something to Picasso inevitably, is still very muchher own.
