Arethey beings naturally separated from others, thosewho liveinsidethe box and can’t see beyond normal realms of expression, or are they subtly just clever souls who piece elements of life and observation together to create an original thought and express it? This is a great book, which is BOOK reviews for general consumption, and not aimed specifically at artists – who nonetheless will find it hard to resist picking up, and I would recommend buying it. It is a self help book, about living outside that box, structured around a wide ranging intellect and knowledge of western philosophy, art history and personal experience. Downside: it de-romanticises the aura that artists project. Paul Hooper
