Beautiful at all times of the yr, but noted for its spring and autumn colours. National Collection of Ghent azaleas. Large number of champion trees, 87 in total. A compact terraced garden using the borrowed landscape of Kingley Vale in the South Downs. The south facing flint stone cottage (not open) is surrounded by a Purbeck stone terrace and numerous individually planted and styled seating areas. A small orchard under planted with meadow, lawns, topiary yew hedges, amelanchier, cercis and drifts of wind grass provide structure and year-round interest. Many novel design ideas and unusual perennial combinations suitable for a small garden. Ample seating throughout the garden to enjoy the views.
