Hartlepool Art Gallery is thrilled to be part of a worldwide tour by presenting the unparalleled work of Steve McCurry with the largest and broadest exhibition of his photographs. This exhibition will feature 100 images from India, Afghanistan, Tibet and Cambodia. McCurry is best known for his 1985 photograph of the Afghan girl with piercing eyes and is a highly decorated photojournalist who has shot for Time, Newsweek and numerous covers for National Geographic. McCurry made international headline in 2002 when he returned to Afghanistan to find the green-eyed girl 17 years later.
