Arran Open Studios
This is the sixth year of the Arran Open Studios. Nearly 50 artists exhibiting in
39 venues over the weekend 11th -14th August.
As well as the high quality arts, you will experience one of Scotland’s most
picturesque ancient and spiritual landscapes as you travel from studio to studio
visiting painters, sculptors, woodworkers furniture makers, jewellers, fabric and
glass workers, leather workers and potters. The island really is a hotbed of
creativity.
Look out for the Art/Poetry in a Biscuit Tin initiative in selected hotel/coffee
shop venues throughout the island. Take part in it.Visitors to the island are
invited to pen a verse, make a drawing or share a meditation on the cards
provided in the Paterson’s of Arran biscuit tin. The resulting reflections will be
exhibited as part of the Arran Open Studios debriefing.
This is also the first year of the new Arran Art Trail. 18 artists and makers
joining with one intent to open their studios all year round.
