QUERCUS GALLERY
PRESS RELEASE
New gallery showcasing contemporary art opens in Bath Saturday 15th June.
Quercus Gallery promotes work by contemporary artists across a range of media.
Paintings, prints, collage, jewellery, ceramics and textiles will be displayed in an
informal exhibition space over two floors.
On Saturday 15th June Quercus Gallery will open its door at No. 1 Queen Street, Bath - the
space formerly occupied by bo.lee Gallery. The inaugural show, titled INTRODUCING,
presents the first group of gallery artists in a mixed show, curated by director Evie Howard.
INTRODUCING: Saturday 15th June – Saturday 13th July
Private View: Friday 14th June 6 – 9pm
Exhibiting in Bath for the first time will be Dorset-based landscape painter Vanessa Gardiner;
Bath jeweller Karen Parker; London-based painter and collage artist Pippa Ridley; mixed media
artist Michelle Thompson, from Saffron Walden; Norfolk-based painter and printmaker
Chloe Steele, and Dorset artist Robert Woolner.
Quercus Gallery places emphasis on presenting a variety of artworks together in order to
suggest dialogue between disciplines. The gallery seeks to create a less rigid exhibition
atmosphere for the mixture of practices it presents and to provide friendly advice for new and
seasoned collectors. A range of work by established and emerging artists will be presented
each year via an engaging programme of exhibitions.
