Contemporary Art and Sculpture Highlight Chelsea Art Fair

The 17th Annual Chelsea Art Fair takes place at Chelsea Old Town

Hall, King's Road, from 19th 22nd April 2012. Sculpture, paintings,

prints and ceramics by leading artists from the past 100 year will

feature together with exciting new works by contemporary painters and

designers.

ʻIt's a feast of colour and inspiration,' explains organiser Caroline

Penman, ʻwith all kinds of traditional and challenging works on display

and at prices to suit every pocket.' With forty galleries showing, this

annual event is a regular highlight of the art scene in London in the

spring.

most popular art events. It attracts collectors of all ages and tastes, from connoisseurs looking for

the latest works by established artists to first-time buyers looking to invest less than £200 in breaking

contemporary art. Prices range from less than £50 for sketches and signed engravings to more than

£20,000 for the latest works by well-known artists.

No fewer than three thousand original portraits, landscapes, figure studies, abstract works, bronzes

and sculptures will be offered for sale and galleries from across the UK will be exhibiting. London

dealers include Quantum Contemporary Art with abstract, figurative and landscape works; Eleven

and a Half, with Cornish artists, Enid Lawson Gallery, featuring works by Susan Ashworth, Richard

Burel, Chris Daynes and David Farrant, Caroline Farmiloe Fine Art with works by Carol

McDermott, Endre Roder and David Paul Gleeson, The Russell

Gallery, with paintings by Sarah Bowman, Neale Worley and

Richard Pikesley; and The Rae Smith Gallery with works by

well known cartoonists and illustrators.

Fine Art Gallery, Eton, Cameron Contemporary Arts from

Brighton, McAllister Thomas from Godalming, Bohemia

All exhibits are available to be purchased from the fair, and a free wrapping service is also provided.

In past years, more than 1,500 works have changed hands during the four days of the fair, a mark of

its broad appeal. The busy Preview Evening is always a Chelsea social occasion to remember. A

restaurant and bar is available for light meals and refreshments.
