The late Sir Kyffin Williams was a regular and Victoria Crowe another and, following in the former's footsteps, so is local Matthew Snowden who has been making a reputation for himself with his powerfully constructed palette-knife landscape paintings. The mountains and rugged coastline of North Wales are, given their geographical proximity, his prime subject matter though more recently the golden beaches and wild moorlands of the Outer Hebrides have become another key theme, Snowden's virtuoso handling more than equal to its subtle, changing beauty.
