Press Release – June 2019 Fresh: Art Fair comes to Ascot Ascot Racecourse 20 - 22 September 2019 “The best contemporary art fairs outside London” In the wake of three successful years at Cheltenham Racecourse, Fresh: Art Fair will open in Ascot this September hosting 53 leading Galleries from across the UK and Europe. There will be 6000 original prints and paintings, sculpture, glass and ceramics from 600 artists, including emerging new talent, established professionals and Royal Academicians. Blake, Hockney, Hirst, Emin, Banksy, Warhol and McLean will all be there. Exhibiting Galleries include London’s Quantum Contemporary Art, Cube Gallery and Gallery Different; Lime Tree Gallery from Bristol; Byard Art from Cambridge; Doorway Gallery, Sol Art and Gormley’s all from Dublin, and Bruno Dahl from Denmark. Unlike the many artist fairs in the Thames Valley, Fresh: exhibits only Galleries. “ It means we can show the work of far more artists, professionally hung in large room-like spaces ” says Fresh: founder Eleanor Wardle. “All our Galleries are experts with their fingers on the pulse of the market, so our visitors know they are looking at acknowledged talent and can buy with confidence ” Browsing and buying contemporary art has never been easier… Fresh: is an easy and exciting way to see a huge volume of quality work in a couple of hours with a coffee or a glass of wine. The Ascot Fair will have a full programme of Talks including ‘Art in Interior Design’ and the intricacies of framing. There will be at least six painters, sculptors and print-makers over the weekend, demonstrating and explaining their skills and inspiration. Bonhams will be there to advise visitors on selling their old pre-contemporary art and Arts Council supported Own Art will provide interest free credit on purchases from £100 up to £25,000. The Racecourse is less than twenty minutes from the M4, M3 and M25 with unlimited free parking and a mainline station 5 minutes walk. The Fair takes place throughout the ground floor Concourse of the main Grandstand, needless to say, there will be NO racing, just ART . “We’re expecting around 6,000 visitors over the weekend”, says Eleanor. “There will be a Private View on the Thursday evening with live jazz, no shortage of free wine and first pick of the art. With well over a thousand guests there’ll be a huge buzz” .
