These are rich and beautiful abstract pieces in which Lagidze builds up complex superstructures, or grids in golds, blues, greys, pinks and blacks and then inserts within their interstices, dense, tiny worlds of gleaming, glowing colour. The title’s link to Bach, as Levin explains, is a reference to the cadences of tiny colour universes that Lagidze builds up within these grids, not dissimilar to the kind of sound universes of Bach’s compositions. Lagidze himself talks about 'hiding colour' in order to entice the viewer in. Utterly ravishing! NU THUMB nail Levan Lagidze ‘Autumn Garden’
