A flood of increasingly ambitious projects followed through the 1970s and 80s, most notably wrapping a mile ofthe Sydney coastine and, poignantly in the present political circumstances, the 24 mile long white nylon ‘Running Fence’ in California. Now in his 80s, Christo is showing no signs ofslowing down, with a major floating installation on London’s Serpentine this summer, a retrospective at the Serpentine Gallery and a special exhibition of project drawings at S tern Pissarro Gallery, interventions rich with poetic resonances.
