It is a rich and complex brew and one which artist Stuart Burne, born and brought up in the town, art school educated just beyond the Menai Straits and now living and working there, has made into the source material of his vigorous, humanistic art – ferries seen from the windows of lovers’ bedrooms bustle to and fro, trains depart for the mainland, tourist planes roar overhead, all painted with an exuberant, expressive brushstroke and a huge tenderness.
