I have written about his work before and the more of it I review the more I can begin to see just why he chose to do so; Cornish landscape art is often very much about crystalline light and clarity of forms; Dewsbury's preoccupations are rather different – above all the fleeting moment where rain clouds move away and across the landscape or mists slowly disperse, dense growths of thicket and woodland often choking the light, all painted with a Palmer-esque Romantic intensity. Showing new works at F fin y Parc Gallery this month. NU THUMB nail Gerald Dewsbury ‘Ancient Rowen’
