Giverny is the subject and setting for several works showing in Kay’s latest exhibition at T he Russell Gallery. Clearly they follow a favoured garden theme – among them the Alhambra, Sissinghurst and the Taj Majhal. Although Pamela Kay has spent the last 50 years of her life painting, to discover that she is a graduate of the Royal College of Art textile school and once designed textiles for John Lewis explains a lot – the rich use of colour, the floral themes, the textured elements are all uppermost in her work.
