Scottish Colourism is perhaps a word too loosely banded about at times, but Fullarton really is the genuine article, his still life studies of flowers, poppies in particular, being sumptuous in colour and vivid in their sense of transitory life. His landscapes are no less exhilarating, full of the wonder of the thing seen. New paintings form an exhibition at Roger Billcliffe Gallery, 6 May to June 1.
