While retaining a number of artists from the gallery’s existing roster, they then decided to follow their own artistic passions, by simply showing the artists they liked and collected. Many of them, like Enzo Marra for example, with his sharp, painterly observations of the art world have no immediate connection to Cornwall at all. Their latest show, ‘Echoes and Scenes’, carries this idea forward, in this instance focussing on the feedback loop between an artist’s looking and mark-making –the result is exceptionally refreshing.
