His latest,‘Wild Shores’, focuses on the coastlines of the Scottish Western Isles, a subject that fascinates him, especially the constant changing interaction of sea and land. In his latest works, with a combination of superb painterly facility and passionate determination, he has successfully developed his technique to render both the permanent and transient nature of his enthralling subject. Equally practised in watercolour and oil painting, he captures both the atmospheric effects of the maritime climatic changes, and renders the indomitable geological structures of the spectacular land.
