He is a key figure in a global charity for otter conservation, based on the Isle of Skye – the island also being close to his heart and the location of one of his three studios. The style is simplified forms, subtle curves, flowing lines and smooth surfaces, often contrasted by small areas of rough texture and the scale ranges from small maquettes to outdoor sculpture of monumental proportions. Broderick has shown in galleries throughout the UK and Europe as well as the USA and Canada, and with organisations including the Royal Society of British Artists and the Society of Wildlife Artists.
