It also shows his growing absorption in the numinous nature oftrees and landscape, and love ofLondon's artistic opportunities including memorable visits to his patron Eddie Marsh's flat, its walls 'literally papered with pictures' by Blake and Cotman, Gertler, Spencer and Duncan Grant.
