Everything on show is for sale – domestic ware, functional pots and decorative installations with prices far ranging from £40 to £10,000. The Association carries out a rigorous selection procedure, not only to maintain a high standard of work for the show but also generally to promote excellence in studio ceramics. There’s also a busy education programme laid on with talks, demonstrations and films exploring technical diversity and aesthetics as well as how ceramics interact with, and enrich our daily lives. And if the event itself is not temptation enough to pay a visit, the venue makes it a must – Central Saint Martins’ new home, a Grade II listed granary building at King’s Cross which has had a stunning £200m renovation.
