He has, in truth, become the painter it has never really had, certainly not in recent times in any event. Plenty of artists have focused on the architecture and plenty on the people but very few have come to make them an integral part of the other. Now, with this latest show at The Millinery Works , he is spreading his wings somewhat further afield with the old painting grounds of Islington, Hackney and Spitalfields being joined by scenes from the City, West End, occasionally even Devon and Brighton. It doesn’t seem to have changed his basic approach at all though, the secret of its success lying in the fact that he THUMB nails
