Based on the custom of wealthy well-travelled collectors in the 17th & 18th C. who brought home small collectable items of art and displayed their collection in special GLASGOW The London based Fleming Collection has this year launched the Fleming-Wyfold Award, to encourage final year students of the four main Scottish art schools. One finalist from each student body is chosen and the four works are considered for the £2,000 prize. Although a large percentage of these students are from elsewhere, the caveat is that you have to be a student with ‘Scottish Heritage’ to qualify . . . Congratulations to Morag Donkin and her Redhall House, the first winner of the Award. CM
