They explore the ways in which Ovid’s myth of the beautiful youth, entrancedby his own reflection andthen transformedinto the eponymous flower, has inspiredso many artists. Dali’s Metamorphosis of Narcissus is undoubtedly the big attraction but also included are some fascinating interpretations on self-obsession by, amongst others, Beaton andCocteau. Lomas’ exhibition publication explores the myth in a wider context. BH THUMB nails Jean Cocteau, ‘Orphée’
