GALLERIES DECEMBER 11 MAP 27 LONDON CORK STREET Kurt Jackson ‘10pm, balmy evening’ Though most closely associated with the landscape of the far west of Cornwall where he has lived now for many years, Kurt Jackson has, since childhood in fact, always been something of an adventurer/painter, his early training in marine biology and things geographical lying at the core of his approach to the business of landscape painting and leading him to paint regularly in rural France and Greece also. As the nature writer Robert Macfarlane points out in the catalogue introduction to this new show at the Redfern, this means that the paintings, for both him and us, become an intensely active, engaging activity, one in which all the senses also are intimately involved and the show, as a whole, the sense almost of an installation.
